HiveMind Co., Ltd. (CEO Warren Kim) announced its participation in COMEUP Stars 2024.
The COMEUP Stars 2024 program, part of the global startup festival COMEUP 2024, is a startup pitching competition under the “Startup Valley” session, where innovative startups showcase their solutions on the main stage.
A total of 50 teams will compete, including 30 from the Rookie League, 10 from the Runners League, and 10 from the Rocket League, which includes companies recommended by COMEUP House and its advisory committee.
Participants come from 13 countries, including Korea, the United States, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, India, and Turkey, demonstrating the event’s global reach.
HiveMind, a Korean startup developing solutions that enhance workflow efficiency and protect the rights of content creators, plans to unveil its AI automatic subtitle generation and translation service designed specifically for individual creators.
Built on OpenAI’s Whisper model, the service accelerates and streamlines video production for creators active on major video platforms.
It achieves a remarkable 98% subtitle accuracy rate, outperforming not only the original Whisper model but also leading solutions such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and CapCut.
The technology can accurately recognize multiple mixed languages (e.g., Korean and English) within a single video and supports speech recognition in 40 languages and automatic translation into 150 languages.
It also includes features to mitigate hallucinations, a common weakness in generative AI models. HiveMind developed a proprietary advanced AI model to ensure consistent subtitle quality, even in moments with background noise, music, or brief pauses in dialogue.
The service’s broad usability—ranging from narration videos to movies, shows, and music videos—and its user-friendly interface make it accessible and powerful. With these strengths, HiveMind aims to help individual creators expand into global markets.
CEO Warren Kim stated: “About 85% of YouTube content is produced by individual creators, but subtitling consumes a huge amount of time. Our AI technology reduces the time required to subtitle a 10-minute video from 3–4 hours to just minutes.”
COMEUP 2024 will be held December 11–12 at COEX in Seoul, featuring innovative startups and investors from over 40 countries.
The event’s theme, ‘Innovation Beyond Borders’, highlights startups that transcend national and technological boundaries to lead global innovation, with sessions on DeepTech, Inbound, and Sustainable Innovation by Startups (SIS).
